Job description

HistoSonics is a commercial-stage medtech company advancing the Edison® System, a novel non-invasive sonic beam therapy based on histotripsy. Since receiving FDA De Novo grant for the non-invasive destruction of liver tumors in 2023, the company has progressed beyond initial market entry into commercial expansion, reimbursement momentum, and ongoing clinical and pipeline development. In addition to its current liver tumor indication, HistoSonics is pursuing future indications across multiple applications including kidney, pancreas, prostate, neuro, women’s health, and other significant underserved human health areas, to realize the broader potential histotripsy across multiple disease states and medical specialties.

We offer an exciting work culture where cutting-edge science meets real-world application, and each team member’s contribution is important to our success in ensuring our physicians and their patients get what they need most.

Location: Plymouth, MN preferred; remote candidates will be considered.
Travel: Up to 30% travel required for remote employees.

Position Summary (Why this role matters):

HistoSonics is seeking a Senior Manager, Downstream Marketing to lead the commercialization strategy for our histotripsy platform across kidney & prostate indications. This role owns how the therapy shows up in the market — translating portfolio and brand strategy into commercially effective execution that accelerates adoption, expands the addressable patient population, and drives durable revenue growth.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing, the Senior Manager partners closely with Upstream Marketing to shape and set the commercialization strategy — from launch excellence through in-market lifecycle management. The role integrates market insight, clinical evidence, and voice-of-customer into differentiated positioning and a coordinated go-to-market plan executed across commercial, medical affairs, clinical and education / training teams.

Key Responsibilities (What you’ll do): Upstream Partnership:
  • Collaborate with Upstream Marketing to define segmentation, targeting, and lifecycle plans — ensuring a seamless handoff from product development and market-shaping activities into commercial execution.
  • Provide Voice of Customer, competitive intelligence, and commercial insights that influence product roadmap and clinical priorities.
Commercialization Strategy:
  • Translate portfolio and brand strategy into an integrated downstream commercialization plan for liver and pancreas indications, aligned to franchise and corporate strategic objectives.
  • Develop the brand narrative and messaging platform with clear differentiation from competitive and alternative treatment modalities, grounded in clinical data and customer insight.
  • Translate clinical evidence and published data into a compelling commercial story — converting studies and publications into sales enablement tools that resonate with physician, referral, and administrator audiences.
  • Support launch excellence to ensure alignment across cross-functional partners including KOL engagement, congress strategy, sales enablement, and field education and training
  • Define and own KPIs and track performance against adoption, share, and revenue targets.
Competitive & Business Intelligence:
  • Own competitive intelligence for urology indications, monitoring competing and alternative treatment modalities, the evolving landscape, and clinical and market developments; recommend timely strategic responses.
  • Build and maintain competitive battlecards, positioning guidance, and objection-handling resources that equip the commercial team in the field.
  • Own market analytics in order to translate data, adoption trends, and voice-of-customer into actionable insight that informs commercialization strategy and forecasting.
Shared Services Partnership:
  • Collaborate with marketing communications, market development and other shared services to build awareness and adoption strategies that grow the addressable patient population, including referral-pathway development, digital and social promotional strategies, and other programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree required (Life Sciences, Engineering, Marketing, or related field); MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of medical device or medtech marketing experience, with significant time in downstream strategic commercial roles.
  • Experience in interventional oncology, tumor ablation, interventional radiology, or comparable high-acuity therapeutic. Experience in urology required.
  • Demonstrated track record launching and commercializing products, including new-indication and market-development launches.
  • Proven ability to partner across upstream and downstream marketing to set and execute commercialization strategy.
  • Experience building go-to-market strategy: segmentation, targeting, positioning, pricing input, omnichannel marketing, and sales enablement.
  • Ability to partner with external stakeholders, including interventionalists, referring physicians, and hospital administrators.
  • Strong people-leadership, cross-functional influence, data-analytics, and budget-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 30%.
Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This includes health, dental, and vision insurance, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
