Job description

Job Description Our direct global law firm client seeks a Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence responsible for strategy, market research, analytics, information services, and related functions. They will play a key role in driving the firm's revenue, profitability, client, market, and business growth, and will work in close collaboration with the firm's practice leaders, other partners, and other members of leadership. This position will report to the Director of Competitive Intelligence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence will: Develop a deep understanding of the firm's practices, clients, market, and competitive position; provide critical and actionable analysis and insights to drive strategic decision-making and growth planning, including into industry dynamics/trends across the firm's global markets, clients, and competitors, and various economic, commercial, and business areas.

Leverage the firm's data and information technology resources, introduce and deploy highly impactful tools and solutions, and collaborate cross-functionally with other members of the firm's business and partner leadership. Play a key role in identifying opportunities for potential new client development and to further grow existing client relationships. Lead in-depth market research and other qualitative and quantitative studies and programs and provide proactive and impactful guidance and market intelligence for firm, practice, client, and partner-specific business planning.

Stay abreast of new trends, technologies, and solutions; evaluate competitive intelligence systems, tools, and methodologies, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in operations. Collaborate among a team of high-performance professionals and ensure that all resources and infrastructure are aligned with the firm's goals and objectives; participate in fostering an environment that is team-oriented and committed to the highest levels of client service and professional excellence. In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees.

This includes complying with the firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management. QUALIFICATIONS Strong business acumen, research, financial, and analytical skills; the ability to develop short- and long-term strategic plans from broadly stated objectives. Superior presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills; the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization and in the outside community - tailoring communications effectively for different groups and stakeholders.

Positive attitude, intrinsic curiosity, and grounded nature. Results-orientation and pragmatic problem-solving abilities; willingness to "roll up one's sleeves" when necessary and lead by example. A strong background in competitive intelligence technology, tools, and the application of innovative solutions to drive revenue, profitability, market share, and business growth.

Commitment to superior levels of client service, team-orientation, and professional excellence. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE An undergraduate degree is required; MLS or other advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 10 to 15 years' experience supporting strategic and operational competitive intelligence capabilities and functions in a major law firm environment.
