Job description

Are you looking to make a REAL impact on people's lives - not only with your amazing passion and skills - but with the most cutting-edge technology in the business?
Do you want to work with more runners, triathletes, and other high-performance athletes?
Do you want to be part of a team that truly cares about your success both personally and professionally?
Competitive Edge Physical Therapy is a fast-growing, privately owned, sports orthopedic and biomechanics practice with locations in San Jose, Santa Clara, and Pleasanton California. We are cash-based, don't contract with any insurance companies, have the most advanced technology in the business, and as a result - attract and get to work with the best clients in the Bay area.
We currently have an immediate opening for a full-time licensed physical therapist at our Santa Clara location.
Why work for Competitive Edge?
Work-Life Balance + Opportunity
Feeling boxed-in by corporate rules and regulations limits your freedom to choose what's best for your personal and professional aspirations. Here's how Competitive Edge is changing the game:
  • Avoid burnout while focusing on client experience - maximum of 32 client treatments per week
  • Ability to flex your schedule around a dream vacation or life event
  • Choice in working a 4 or 5 day work-week
  • Support in expressing your unique knowledge and expertise to our growing community
  • Freedom in working for a small growing business where your ideas can truly be put into practice
  • AI documentation saving you hours in charting
Our Running and Sports Performance Lab:
Competitive EDGE Physical Therapy is one of the most advanced outpatient physical therapy centers in the country. Our facility is a research-grade biomechanics lab and human performance center that caters to athletes of all levels. Our center is outfitted with 3D IMU sensors, muscle EMG, force plates, and high-speed video. Our team serves as the physical therapy team for the MLS San Jose Earthquakes and works with high level ultra and marathon runners.
Our vision is to transform the field of physical therapy from boring and outdated to technology-forward and engaging. If you believe that being a physical therapist is more than just skilled manual therapy and want to truly improve the human experience through movement analysis and biofeedback training, then you'll fit right in.
People First Values:
Competitive Edge believes that a truly great physical therapy company is where client and staff relationships are built on mutual trust and shared goals, where physical therapists have the time and industry leading technology necessary to educate and empower clients, and where the client remains the center of attention. We are a fully cash-based clinic, which means you can utilize your degree to its fullest potential without the burdens of insurance reimbursement. YOU can decide what's best for your clients.
Freedom and Support In Professional Growth:
Personal and professional growth is the foundation of what makes Competitive Edge different. We dedicate over 100 hours per year towards professional development. Every week we block two hours for training and education as a team and one hour for direct, one-on-one mentorship with an experienced clinician with advanced certification.
For the right candidate who has aspirations for clinic ownership, Competitive Edge offers a pathway to become an owner of a new Competitive Edge location with on-the-job mentorship and training provided.
A Place Where Your Contribution Matters:
If you thrive in fast-paced environments and want to work for a growing small business where all details of the business are transparent, where your contributions and effort matter, and where you can brainstorm creative solutions to complex problems, then a career as a physical therapist at Competitive Edge is right for you.
Ideal Candidates for the Role Will:
  • Perform running and walking gait analysis, return to sport testing, sports performance testing, initial evaluations, and follow up appointments
  • Ensure clients achieve their clinical, health, and lifestyle outcomes
  • Be able to clearly communicate the value of our service
  • Provide a level of customer care that will cause clients to refer friends and family
We're Looking For Physical Therapists Who:
  • Are inspired to move the field of physical therapy forward using biomechanics and technology
  • Value education and growth and are dedicated to lifelong learning
  • Want to be part of a dedicated team where their input truly matters
  • Love creating meaningful relationships with clients in pursuit of their goals
  • Are passionate about sports and strength and conditioning
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Current CA and PT license
  • Current CPR Certification
  • 2+ years-experience preferred - new grads welcome to apply
  • CSCS and OCS - preferred
  • Strong communication and clinical decision making skills
  • Must be a US Citizen
Position Highlights:
  • 1-hour evaluations and follow ups
  • Work with motivated athletes and clients who are actively invested in their outcome
  • Ample opportunity for professional growth through in-house training and mentorship
  • 2-hour professional development training and in-services EVERY week
  • 60 minutes of 1:1 weekly mentorship with an OCS and sports biomechanics professional
  • Work with high-tech biofeedback and motion analysis equipment
  • AI documentation to significantly reduce charting time
Benefits Package:
  • 401K with company matching
  • Health Insurance
  • Sick time off
  • 3 Weeks PTO to start that increases with tenure
  • Paid holidays
  • Generous continuing education allocation per year
  • 2 Hours in-clinic team professional development per week
  • 60 minutes of 1:1 professional mentorship
  • Tuition Reimbursement
Job Type: Full-Time
