Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we've been helping individuals, families, and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help, and buy health insurance. As Colorado's official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Position Summary:
The Product Manager will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the vision for our products, aligning business and customer needs with product solutions to meet business objectives. Focused on continual improvement and innovation, this role will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through launch and beyond. The Product Manager will work with research and business partners to identify market opportunities, and collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to deliver products that drive user engagement and business growth.
Position Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Vision:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, leadership, and cross-functional teams, to develop a clear product vision and strategy.
  • Embody the 'why' behind every initiative, ensuring all stakeholders understand and embrace the outcomes the team aims to achieve.

Roadmap Development & Execution:
  • Create and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer needs, and product vision.
  • Translate product solutions into detailed epics and user stories, partnering with design and engineering to ensure optimal solutions to meet user needs.
  • Prioritize product backlog, balancing new features, technical debt, and system improvements.

Cross-Functional Leadership:
  • Lead and coordinate with engineering, design, and operations teams to understand and address upstream and downstream impacts to ensure successful product development and deployment.
  • Engage with marketing, sales, and operations teams to develop go-to-market strategies and launch plans.

Performance & Analytics:
  • Establish and track key product metrics, using data insights to drive decision-making and refine product strategies.
  • Regularly evaluate product performance, conduct competitive analysis, and recommend enhancements to maintain competitive advantage.

Customer & Market Insights:
  • Gather and analyze feedback from customers and stakeholders and proactively challenge and refine ideas to inform product direction and strategy.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to anticipate market trends and customer needs.

Requirements
  • Colorado resident.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in product management or related field required, with a focus on product opportunity identification, early & frequent testing, and measuring outcomes over output.
  • Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Pendo).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with a proven track record of identifying and addressing root causes of friction, and the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working from ambiguity to clarity-able to lead problem-first, not feature-first.
  • Deep understanding of customer pain points with an ability to craft compelling value propositions.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Technical fluency, with comfort understanding and discussing technical concepts, tradeoffs, and new opportunities with engineers.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) and willingness to adopt emerging AI solutions to improve individual and team productivity and support faster, more informed decision-making.
  • Experience building or working with AI prototyping tools like v0.dev, Bolt, Cursor, or Replit.
  • Strong desire to grow a career within product management and champion a culture that embraces new approaches, tools, and standards that move the entire product team forward.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of our system and highly sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of health insurance industry preferred.

Work Environment:
  • Currently working remotely.
  • The Connect for Health Colorado office is located in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225.
  • The work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends, and evening events.
  • Core office hours are typically 8 am-5 pm with some flexibility.

Total Compensation:
Connect for Health Colorado offers a competitive benefits package. Employees are offered a robust benefits package and may elect from various offerings to tailor a package best suited to their individual needs. Connect for Health Colorado employees are eligible to participate in the organization's 403(b) plan and are additionally provided with paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance. The salary range for this position is $97,850 - $127,720.
