The Manager, Sales Compensation is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of compensation, commercial strategy, analytics, and AI-enabled technology.  In this role, you'll independently own complex workstreams that shape how the Enterprise Growth Platform rewards performance. You'll take ambiguous business questions from problem definition through analysis, recommendation, stakeholder alignment, implementation, and ongoing evaluation. You'll partner with Compensation leaders and teams across Sales Enablement, Revenue Operations, Finance, Technology, and People to solve business needs spanning incentive plan design, performance analysis, systems, administration, and profitable growth.

Walmart’s Home Office & Growth Compensation team partners closely with People Partners and leaders across the enterprise to support business objectives. The team combines strategic advising with practical execution, focusing on collaboration, rigor, curiosity, and experimentation. They design and implement compensation programs aligned with business needs and market trends. By leveraging data analysis and effective communication, the team ensures competitive and equitable compensation solutions. This group values shared success and continuous improvement, working diligently to support enterprise growth and Home Office functions through thoughtful project planning and comprehensive compensation analysis.
What you'll do:
  • Partner with Sales Enablement, Revenue Operations, Finance, People, Compensation, technology, analytics, and business leaders to translate commercial priorities into effective sales incentive solutions. 
  • Own complex compensation workstreams end-to-end, from diagnosing business needs and designing plans through modeling, implementation, testing, and evaluation. 
  • Analyze compensation, sales, financial, and market data using scenario analysis, dashboards, AI, and automation to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. 
  • Develop clear recommendations based on financial impact, behavioral outcomes, and operational feasibility. 
  • Ensure accurate plan administration through strong requirements, validation, controls, documentation, data protection, and escalation of risks or exceptions.

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HRM, or related field plus 3+ years relevant experience, or 5+ years equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and performance data, build models, and translate findings into recommendations.
  • Independently own ambiguous work, develop and defend recommendations, influence stakeholders, and drive implementation.
  • Collaborate across functions and senior leaders, navigate priorities, and communicate complex information clearly.
  • Use technology, AI, automation, and analytics with sound judgment around validation, risk, and controls.
  • Experience with sales compensation, incentive design, commission or bonus calculations, supplemental incentives, or ICM platforms.
  • Experience partnering with Sales or business leaders on compensation, performance, financial, or commercial decisions.
