How does a compensation analyst collaborate with HR and management teams to develop compensation strategies?

Compensation Analysts work closely with HR and management teams to gather data on market trends, employee performance, and organizational goals. They analyze compensation structures, ensure pay equity, and provide recommendations for salary adjustments or incentive programs. Regular collaboration involves participating in meetings to present findings, discussing budget constraints, and aligning compensation practices with the company's overall talent retention and attraction strategies. This teamwork ensures that compensation policies remain competitive and compliant with regulations.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a compensation analyst?

To thrive as a Compensation Analyst, you need a solid understanding of compensation structures, data analysis, and HR practices, often supported by a degree in human resources, finance, or a related field. Familiarity with HRIS systems, Excel, compensation benchmarking tools, and relevant certifications like CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help Compensation Analysts interpret data and advise stakeholders. These competencies are crucial for ensuring competitive, equitable pay practices and supporting an organization's talent and retention strategies.

What is a compensation OTE?

Compensation OTE stands for 'On-Target Earnings,' which refers to the total expected pay for a job if all performance targets are met. Compensation OTE roles are positions—often in sales or business development—where a significant portion of income is based on commissions or performance bonuses, in addition to a base salary. OTE gives candidates an idea of what they can realistically earn if they achieve their goals, helping both employers and employees set clear expectations around pay.

Job description

Description

General Manager

Denver Metro, CO | Alloy Automotive

Job Type: Full-Time | Compensation: OTE $150,000+

Great operators aren't born knowing how to run a shop.

They're built in it. Figuring it out. Making mistakes. Getting better. When surrounded by people who expect more from them than they expect from themselves.

That same mindset is what built this company. And it's exactly what this role requires.

This Isn't Just Another Store.

This is a high-volume, high-performing location in the Denver metro area. It has a strong team that already knows what "great" looks like. It's the kind of environment where we raise the bar, test ideas, and set the standard for everything else we do.

If you step into this role, you're not just running a shop.

You're helping define how all of Alloy operates.

What You'll Be Doing

You will lead a top-performing location with a team that is already operating at a high level. Your job is to build on that.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing a high-level team of advisors and technicians
  • Owning the performance of a high-volume operation
  • Creating a consistent, exceptional customer experience
  • Driving accountability, culture, and execution at a high level
  • Partnering directly with leadership to test and roll out new initiatives
  • Helping shape the future of our Colorado market and beyond

This is not a maintenance role.

This is a leadership role.

This Role Is a Fit If You:

  • Have successfully managed a high-volume, high-performing shop
  • Know how to lead people, not just manage tasks
  • Are comfortable holding a high standard and being held to one
  • Communicate clearly and handle hard conversations well
  • Take ownership without waiting for direction
  • Want to be part of building something, not just running something

Why Alloy Automotive Partners

We're building something that lasts, and it only works if the values are real.

We solve problems instead of talking around them. We take ownership of outcomes, not just responsibilities. We move with urgency and set the pace for the people around us. We stay curious and keep getting better. And when things get hard, we face it head on instead of backing off.

That's what creates a team that performs at a high level and keeps raising the standard.

We also believe this should fit into your life. Many of us have families and responsibilities outside of work. This should add to your life, not take away from it.

Benefits

  • No weekends
  • No late nights
  • Competitive compensation (OTE $150,000+)
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time
  • High-performing, team-oriented environment
  • Significant growth opportunity

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day operations of the shop
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top talent to keep the shop fully staffed and performing at a high level.
  • Develop and coach advisors and technicians
  • Drive performance across sales, efficiency, and customer experience
  • Maintain high standards for quality, organization, and safety
  • Oversee scheduling, inventory, and workflow
  • Collaborate with leadership on new initiatives and rollouts
  • Deliver a consistently exceptional customer experience
  • Do whatever it takes to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and live out our values

If you've built something before and you're ready to step into a role with real impact, this is it.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing a high-level operation in the automotive industry
  • Strong leadership and team development skills

  • Valid driver's license
  • Physically capable of performing essential job functions, including grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting (including items over 50 pounds), bending, and reaching overhead
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours
