Job description

(Internally titled Manager, People Compensation)

At WelbeHealth, we serve our communities' most vulnerable seniors through shared intention, pioneering spirit, and the courage to love. These core values and our participant-focus lead the way no matter what.

The Manager, People (Assignment: Compensation) is accountable for implementing and managing comprehensive compensation programs that support WelbeHealth's strategic goals, workforce planning, and talent acquisition efforts. This role provides leadership and expertise across all compensation functions, including base pay, incentive and bonus programs, equity administration, market pricing, compensation analysis, and salary survey participation. This role partners closely with HR leadership, Finance, and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure compensation programs are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational performance objectives.

This role is different because the Manager, People (Assignment: Compensation) at WelbeHealth:

  • Plays a pivotal role in shaping the compensation strategy for a rapidly growing healthcare organization, designing scalable compensation frameworks, job architecture, salary structures, and governance that support organizational growth, workforce planning, and pay equity
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, HR, and Talent Acquisition teams, influencing compensation decisions, leading the annual compensation planning process, and driving the transition from manual compensation administration to more automated, scalable solutions through Workday

We care about our team members. That's why we offer:

  • Medical insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • Work/life balance - We mean it! 17 days of personal time off (PTO), 12 holidays observed annually, and 6 sick days
  • 401K savings + match
  • Comprehensive compensation package including base pay and bonus
  • And additional benefits!

On the day-to-day, you will:

  • Lead the execution of enterprise-wide compensation strategies aligned with organizational goals and healthcare workforce needs, as well as serve as an advisor to HR and executive leadership on compensation philosophy, market competitiveness, pay equity, and workforce retention
  • Manage and mentor compensation team members and provide leadership across compensation initiatives, as well as develop compensation policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
  • Lead compensation related projects including restructurings, reorganizations, and system implementations, presenting compensation recommendations and analyses to leadership and compensation committees as needed
  • Design and administer salary structures, pay grades, and job architecture frameworks, as well as conduct market pricing and benchmarking for clinical, non-clinical, leadership, and executive roles
  • Ensure consistent administration of compensation programs across departments and locations, and evaluate internal equity and external competitiveness of compensation practices
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and the Talent Acquisition team on compensation offers and hiring strategies, as well as oversee annual compensation planning processes, including annual pay increases and market adjustments
  • Design and manage short-term and long-term incentive programs aligned with organizational and individual performance, and develop bonus structures for leadership, physicians, clinical staff, and operational teams where applicable

Job requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance, healthcare administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive compensation experience, healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership or people management experience preferred
  • Must have experience with Workday HRIS systems and compensation software platforms
  • Strong expertise in compensation program design, salary structures, incentive plans, and market analysis
  • Experience managing healthcare compensation programs for clinical and non-clinical populations
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Strong knowledge of compensation regulations and compliance requirements

We are seeking a strategic, collaborative Manager, People (Assignment: Compensation) with expertise in compensation program design, market analysis, job architecture, and compensation planning. The ideal candidate is comfortable partnering directly with senior leaders, providing thoughtful guidance on complex compensation decisions, and helping build scalable compensation programs within a rapidly growing organization. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy balancing strategy with execution, and are passionate about creating fair, competitive, and data-driven compensation programs that support organizational growth and an exceptional team member experience, we'd love to hear from you!
