Job description

Foxconn Industrial Internet is seeking a motivated and technically strong Engineering Data Visualization & Analytics Intern to join our Engineering and Operations team in Houston, TX for the Fall 2026 Internship Program. This is a part-time, 20-hour-per-week role running 13 weeks (August 31 - November 27, 2026).
The intern will work closely with engineering, operations, and IT teams to develop and enhance Tableau dashboards that deliver real-time visibility into key manufacturing and operational metrics. The focus of this role is on transforming raw data into actionable insights - improving reporting consistency, standardizing KPI methodologies, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards that support engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams with real-time visibility into key metrics.
  • Analyze business and operational requirements to translate stakeholder needs into effective data visualizations and reporting solutions.
  • Support the standardization of key performance metrics and reporting methodologies across engineering and operations functions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT stakeholders to identify reporting gaps, dashboard enhancement opportunities, and new data requirements.
  • Validate data accuracy and ensure consistency across all reports and dashboards before deployment.
  • Assist with data extraction, transformation, and preparation from various sources to support reporting and visualization needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation covering dashboard development standards, data sources, and reporting processes to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
  • Present dashboard updates, findings, and project recommendations to engineering and operations stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools strongly preferred. Tableau will be the primary platform used in this role.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data querying techniques for extracting and preparing data from relational databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, validation, and reporting support.
  • Understanding of dashboard design principles and data visualization best practices.
  • Experience working with large datasets and operational or performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Python, or other analytics and automation tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, engineering, or operational reporting environments is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and presentation delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical, with a strong commitment to data accuracy and documentation quality.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage assigned workstreams independently while collaborating closely with the engineering and operations teams.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environment where priorities can shift and adaptability is key.
  • Curious about process improvement, digitalization, and how data can drive better manufacturing outcomes.
  • Able to translate technical findings into clear, actionable summaries for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
