This role is situated onsite at our assisted living facility in Dallas. Working within a close-knit community health center, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with an integrated team of healthcare professionals focused on providing comprehensive behavioral health care. The office environment is designed to be supportive and welcoming, allowing for open communication and teamwork among all staff members.

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose mental health conditions and develop treatment plans tailored to individual patients.
• Manage patient medications, including prescribing and monitoring the effectiveness of treatments, while making adjustments as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Engage in regular collaboration with primary care providers and fellow team members to ensure integrated care across all facets of patient health.
• Provide timely crisis intervention and emotional support to patients experiencing acute distress, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in challenging situations.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness.
• Deliver therapeutic support through evidence-based counseling techniques and psychoeducation, empowering patients to take an active role in their mental health journey.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, complying with HIPAA guidelines and ensuring data integrity for all interactions.

The population served at Wellness Compass Clinic is incredibly diverse, encompassing individuals from various backgrounds and with varying degrees of mental health challenges. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will work primarily with residents of the assisted living facility who may be dealing with conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health disorders. Your role will be pivotal in addressing both the psychiatric and physical health needs of these patients, contributing to their holistic well-being.

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is required.
• State licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a psychiatric specialization is essential for this role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical, allowing you to effectively connect with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.

• Experience working in a community health center or similar settings is preferred, with candidates possessing a background in geriatric mental health being particularly advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention and management is a valuable asset.
