Job description

Compass is recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert, Physical Security to serve as the go-to technical authority on physical security across our growing portfolio of data center campuses.

In this role you will assess physical security risk across the enterprise, steward our security systems and training, and partner closely with Operations and other support teams to make sure the right protections are in place and working as intended. You will report to the Sr. Director, Physical Security and provide expertise and counsel to both the Sr. Director and the SVP, Security and Site Operations - helping us reinforce a strong security culture and continuously improve how Compass protects its people, customers, and facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert across all aspects of physical security for the organization.
  • Incident Stewardship: Ensure all physical security incidents in your assigned regions are tracked and thoroughly investigated.
  • Security Notifications: Coordinate the distribution of Security Notifications across the business.
  • New Site Deployment: Support deployment coordination of security systems at new locations to keep pace with Compass' growth.
  • Security System Architecture: Coordinate the implementation of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Alarm Detection, intercoms, and other security devices.
  • Policy and Documentation: Support the review and documentation of security policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Project Collaboration: Partner with project managers and contribute to projects as required, including QA of customer implementation and support operations.
  • Culture: Embrace Compass' Core Purpose and Core Convictions, reinforce a strong security culture, and help permeate both throughout the Operations organization.

Skills and Experience:

  • Six or more years of experience within the security sector.
  • Technical knowledge of CCTV and access control systems; Genetec software experience preferred.
  • Ability to create and interpret technical documents and reports.
  • Excels at data analysis and at forming and presenting recommendations grounded in quantitative information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with employees, clients, and third parties.
  • Comfortable working with senior managers and third-party vendors, with a demonstrated ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements:

  • Professional certification such as ASP, PSP, or CPP preferred.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented, able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
