Job description

  • Assist with management of projects from start-up to closeout under a Project Manager
  • Assist with bid turnover, project startup, blueprint/specification review, proposal and project requirement review, and materials procurement coordination
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and federal/state laws
  • Provide status updates and maintain documentation records
  • Handle material requisitions, submittal compilation, purchase orders, jobsite walkthroughs, change order requests, RFIs, and closeout documents
  • Assist with quotations, project proposals, estimates, contract review, and project setup in relevant software
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, general contractors, vendors, clients, field supervision, and support departments
  • Maintain project documents, files, drawing sets, correspondence, and online postings using Bluebeam Studio and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Estimate material takeoffs and develop change requests
  • Develop and track Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Research, acquire, and collate submittals and Operations & Maintenance manual materials
  • Monitor project planning, execution, closure, quality control, and project management functions
  • Assist with job billing preparation and substantiations
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by Project Managers
Requirements
  • 2+ years of electrical experience and knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as a Project Engineer
  • Experience with commercial, institutional, and/or industrial projects
  • Experience preparing takeoffs and estimates for change orders
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of NEC and NECA codes and TIA standards
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA codes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods
  • Understanding of company and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities
  • Knowledge of scheduling principles and construction project management is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam, Accubid, or other estimation software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
