PLANT MECHANIC 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Safety
  • The plant maintenance mechanic will be responsible for daily maintenance and repair of the plant (within Oldcastle Southern Group (APAC Florida, Conrad Yelvington Distributors, and Preferred Materials) as well as other miscellaneous work that needs to be performed. Responsibilities will include plant maintenance, repair, and ad installation operations as assigned. Performing special maintenance projects and maintenance and repair on all facility equipment. Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts as needed. Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment in use at the plant.
  • The mechanic will be responsible for the completion of the necessary paperwork that is required as well as communicating any maintenance that needs completed to management. This person will also be expected to follow all safety regulations set forth by the company. Mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. This includes all equipment as well as the facility.
  • The mechanic will be responsible for keeping and turning in the required paperwork management: Maintenance needs, Parts and Service Work orders and Invoices, Safety Documentation.
  • The mechanic may be asked to perform a wide range of duties within the plant such as operating a front end loader, and the willingness to help wherever needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and stand a good part of the day.
  • The mechanic will be working in varying weather conditions, in dust and noisy areas. Substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting or working in awkward or strained positions. Some hazard involved due to working in and around trucks and machinery.
  • Mechanic will be asked to work overtime as well as some weekends as business needs determine.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Front End Loader experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the maintenance field is preferred.
  • General experience with industrial equipment and ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Ready Mix plant operations.
  • Ability to make simple electrical diagnosis and repairs
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
