Job description

Job Summary:
Google is a leading technology company that develops next-generation technologies to enhance user connectivity and interaction. As an Android Application Engineer for Google Fi, you will be responsible for architecting core features and enhancing functionality for millions of users while providing technical leadership to junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and grow junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.
• Leverage deep expertise in the Android framework and telephony stack to solve complex, low-level integration challenges that define our network’s performance.
• Optimize our release management lifecycles to ensure that user-facing features reach millions of devices with uncompromising stability and velocity.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and address technical debt, improve the app's performance, and ensure its stability and reliability.
• Work closely with Product Managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to translate product requirements and designs into a seamless user experience.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• Experience with mobile app development.
• Experience with Android.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience with integration testing.
