As a core member of the Gogo Corporate Accounting team, the Accountant is responsible for supporting an accurate and timely close process through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
This role focuses on accounting activities related to debt, compensation and benefits, payroll, intercompany and other assigned areas as needed. The ideal candidate is a team player that brings strong attention to detail, a solid accounting foundation with public company accounting experience, and the ability to analyze activity, investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and support consistent financial reporting.

How will you make a difference?
  • Prepare and record entries related to corporate accounting including debt, investments, payroll, compensation and benefits, and various other accruals across domestic and international entities
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliations
  • Coordinate with AP/AR teams to reconcile bank transactions to ERP
  • Maintain supporting documentation for journal entries
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate general ledger support
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve account reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and support the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities while meeting established deadlines
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Support accounting projects and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Maintain compliance with internal control and SOX requirements

Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of progressive Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Accounting preferred

  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with internal controls
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to research and apply accounting guidance relevant to the business
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills, Talents, & Experience
  • Public company accounting experience preferred
  • Accrual accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus
