Family Support Associate

Program/Location: Mobile Crisis Service, Brockton
Education/Licensure: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or relevant work and/or life experience
Pay Range: $18 - $23 per hour
Status: Full Time

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to prevent and treat substance use and mental health disorders. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity.             Family Support Associate Duties & Responsibilities

            • Compliance with Federal Regulations regarding 42 CFR Part 2; Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations 
            • Reviews and adheres to posted shift assignment at the start of shift 
            • Observation and accounting of all patients at all times to ensure safety, entering findings of patient status into the EHR at a minimum of hourly 
            • Monitor the milieu including bathrooms and group room for safe, clean and therapeutic environment at hourly and/or as needed 
            • Understanding of emergency procedures and codes and remain calm in a crisis 
            • Maintain therapeutic boundaries by setting limits and enforcing rules in a respectful manner 
            • Perform room inspections per policy and bag searches when directed 
            • Ensure the unit is neat and clean, performing end of shift duties to maintain a therapeutic environment for patients and staff, and restock supplies as needed. 
            • Attends Supervision with assigned supervisor twice monthly and/or as needed based on status or concerns and attend mandatory meetings 
            • Perform any other duties as assigned by Recovery Specialist Supervisor, Nursing Staff, Nurse Manager, Program/Site Director, DON, COO.  
                 
                   
                     
                       
                         
                           
                             
                               
                                 

                                Family Services Specific Duties & Responsibilities

                                • Maintain logs which include, but are not limited to: sign out book, visitor book, chore sheet, FSA shift checklist & drill roster
                                • Complete Incident/Environmental Report forms when required
                                • Understand and implement program policies, EOHLC Scope of Services, Program Guidelines and DHCD Uniform Shelter Rules
                                • Have thorough knowledge of 51A filing of child abuse and neglect in accordance with company policy
                                • Welcomes families and conduct thorough orientation upon arrival
                                • Maintain strong rapport and open communication with participants
                                • Responsible for all admission/discharge documentation, if applicable
                                • Provide family with informational resources about surrounding area
                                • Complete a minimum of three facility checks during your shift, paying special attention to alarms and locks
                                • Model appropriate parenting techniques for all families
                                • Relieve co-workers on time and never leave the facility unattended
                                • Assist with preparing a vacated room/unit for a new family arriving
                                • Assist with program cleaning as needed.
