Job description

SUMMARY:

The Community School Coordinator is responsible for coordinating multiple community partnerships within an individual school in the zone and creating a learning environment that supports student academic success and family stability through a two-generational approach.  The Community School Coordinator ensures that a variety of tiered services and interventions are available and accessible at the school level for students and families according to their level any type of need.  This position also works to identify and fill partnership gaps, including vetting potential opportunities, relationship cultivation, funding opportunities, and reducing barriers to parents and students to accessing services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the success of various programs or services offered to both students and families
  • Guides providers and community partners in aligning their services or resources with student or family needs
  • Assists in exploring potential funding opportunities to support programs and services including grant writing
  • Serves as the school liaison to parents, neighbors, community partners, businesses, faith-based entities, and service providers
  • Supports and assists with the coordination of parent engagement strategies and activities
  • Assists school staff, service providers, and community partners in resolving issues related to service delivery, access, and coordination

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, education, or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience working in social service/educational environments
  • Accurate data management and reporting skills, while maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to work day, evening, and weekend hours as necessary
