Role Purpose

  • A vibrant leader to develop, implement, refine, and sustain a robust culture of missional serving throughout Plainfield Christian Church (PCC) by equipping leaders who develop leaders and creating the systems, opportunities, and content necessary for our church to effectively serve and ultimately reach the local community.
  • A supportive, complimentary staff member who fullyparticipateswith the church's team of ministers.
  • A Christ-follower, grounded in the Word of God, modeling spiritually maturing discipleship, a deepening walk with Jesus, and living with integrity as a member of the PCC staff, seeking to live by its four values - Be Known for Love, Replace Yourself,Makeit Better and Expect the Supernatural - and subscribing to the church's statement of belief and staff lifestyle agreement.

Role/Job Products

Local Impact Ministry

  • A well-developed, communicated, and executed vision and strategy for local missions, ensuring that ministry initiatives meet community needs andaccomplishthe vision outcomes of PCC.
  • Strong, intentional, and well-evaluated relationships with PCC Local Impact Partners.
  • Development of new, strategic partnershipsandnew ministries to reach community members and address emerging community needs.
  • Cultivated relationships with nonprofits, schools, and other community organizations toidentifyopportunities for gospel influence and strategic partnership.

Volunteer Recruitment and Development

  • Service opportunitiesare intentionallydesigned to disciple and develop volunteers, not simplyaccomplishministry tasks.This role mustseeserving as an essential part of discipleship.
  • Service opportunities that simultaneously meet community needs, strengthen ministry partners, and advance the vision outcomes of PCC.
  • Missional service opportunities designed with everyone at PCC in mind.
  • Volunteers effectively recruited, trained, resourced, and developed for effective ministry andultimately tobecome leaders of leaders.

Cross-Ministry Responsibilities

  • PCC ministries resourced with meaningful community service opportunities (e.g.Rooted Groups).
  • Coordinated service opportunities with locally based Global Impact Partners.
  • Effectively led global mission trips as requested by the Impact Director.

Community Care

  • Well-led Benevolence Ministry that meets individual family needs through effective policies, consistentfollow-up, and intentional pathways thatultimately connectcommunity members to the life of the church.
  • Effective, accessible "on call" presence in response to individual communitymembersneedsarising during Sunday services.


Relationships

  • Contribute to and attend chapels, staff meetings, andrequiredspecial all-hands-on-deck events.
  • The person filling this position may have a pathway toward ordination and minister designation, depending on passion, calling, and status of role at beginning of employment.
  • The Missional Engagement Minister/Coordinator will work under the oversight of the Impact Director.
