Job description

Join Pilgrim Place, a welcoming senior living community in Claremont, where teamwork, respect, and service guide everything we do. We're looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our team and help create enjoyable, nourishing meals for our residents.
In this role, you'll work hands-on in the kitchen and dining areas, supporting meal preparation, service, and cleanup while contributing to a safe, clean, and caring environment.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare food by washing, cutting, and portioning fruits and vegetables, making salads, sandwiches, and desserts.
  • Assist cooks and bakers by following recipes and production lists.
  • Set up dining rooms and meal carts before service.
  • Collaborate with nursing and caregiving staff to plate, serve, and deliver meals to residents.
  • Wash dishes using commercial dish machines and by hand as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining, and storage areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Help with special events and catering.
  • Receive, rotate, label, and properly store food and supplies.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Support a positive, team-oriented workplace where residents feel cared for and valued.

What You Bring
