Role Overview
The Principal Technology Risk Engagement drives complex technology risk remediation efforts from validated risk identification through measurable risk reduction. This role coordinates across technology, security, operations, resilience, governance, and funding stakeholders to ensure commitments are clear, actions are tracked, evidence is validated, and risk outcomes are achieved.
Success in this role requires strong risk judgment, disciplined execution, exceptional attention to detail, and relentless follow-through. The role is responsible for driving engagement rigor, stakeholder alignment, remediation readiness, and risk-outcome integrity.
This is not a delivery ownership role. Technology owners remain accountable for implementation. This role ensures remediation efforts remain structured, accountable, evidence-based, and focused on risk reduction.

  • Validate remediation plans to ensure root causes and control gaps are addressed.
  • Coordinate evidence readiness, control validation, and residual risk assessments.
  • Identify blockers, ownership gaps, evidence deficiencies, and commitment drift.
  • Orchestrate the actions, decisions, approvals, and assurance activities required to achieve validated risk reduction.
  • Prepare executive-ready updates focused on risk posture, remediation progress, and residual risk.
  • Escalate material issues that threaten successful remediation outcomes.
  • Distinguish risk health from project health in all reporting and governance discussions.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in technology risk, cybersecurity, audit, governance, technology operations, resilience, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional engagements in large enterprise environments.
  • Strong program discipline, including commitment tracking, stakeholder management, action management, and executive reporting.
  • Experience evaluating remediation plans, validating control effectiveness, and assessing residual risk.
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes across organizations without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale technology remediation, audit response, resilience, lifecycle management, or risk reduction initiatives.
  • Knowledge of NIST, COBIT, COSO, ITIL, ISO, ITAM, TLM, resilience, or related control frameworks.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, ITIL, PMP, or comparable technology risk credentials.
Familiarity with applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) techniques in cybersecurity contexts (e.g., anomaly detection, threat hunting, behavioral analytics, or risk scoring).
