Job description

The Moses-Schafer Community Center in Good Hope is a place for outreach and practical services offered to the communities of the Perris area. The Program Assistant works closely with the Center Manager to create a welcoming environment for all people. This position plays an important role in the planning, implementation, and oversight of daily activities and major events.
Reports to: Community Center Manager
Works with: Community Centers and Outreach staff and volunteers
Works: Part time, approximately 20-25 hours per week, hourly;
Various hours as needed
ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT - 40%
  • Provide administrative support to the Community Center Manager.
  • Cover receptionist desk and answer phones.
  • Serve as point of contact for individuals and groups regarding programs, services, and events.
  • Provide oversight to the Community Center to fill in for the Manager as needed.
  • Coordinate with local feeding ministries on administrative details.
PROGRAMS AND EVENTS - 50%
  • Assist with recreational activities - arts and crafts, seniors groups, youth activities, games, and sports.
  • Provide hospitality to visitors at the center.
  • Assist in covering rentals; serve as host during special events and reservations.
  • Assist the Manager with event reservations as needed.
OTHER- 10%
  • Help ensure the center is a safe, organized, and clean environment.
  • Attend team meetings, staff meetings, and trainings.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants must have bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Applicants must be able to lift/move items weighing approximately 50lbs.
  • Flexible schedule leading up to events.
