SUMMARY:
Coordinators at NEKCA lead and organize to integrate and streamline services throughout our agency and with regional partners. Coordinators are highly collaborative and great communicators. They are responsible for facilitating programming and implementing human-centered services across all levels of programming. Coordinator responsibilities may include programmatic oversight, grant reporting, and ensuring smooth operations at service locations in support of the Program Manager and/or Director.
This is a position is a Housing Coordinator for the Housing and Homelessness Services Program in the Economic and Community Based Services Department which primarily supports participants with securing safe shelter and working with them to find permanent housing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Â Â Perform intake per requirements of NEKCA/grantor. Determine and verify eligibility for all applicants in accordance with program guidelines
- Â Â Collect and report all data accurately and timely into GoEngage to meet program deadlines
- Â Â Assess participants in crisis to determine immediate needs and develop plan for response, including referrals (interagency and external)
- Â Â Work collaboratively with community partners to address needs of low-income households
- Â Â Understand and follow all program guidance and policies
- Â Provide programmatic support to work team as designated by Program Manager
- Â Provide Program Manager/ Coordinator II with regular updates
- Â Â Attend and participate in staff, agency and community meetings deemed necessary for job performance
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Â Works with participants to develop a long-term comprehensive, self-driven plan to aid in achieving self-identified goals.
- Â Regularly meet with participants to assess family needs and progress on meeting self-identified goals.
- Â Work with participants and landlords to negotiate gaining and maintaining residence.
- Â Provide tenancy education and navigation of housing assistance supports
- Â Ensure that the participants is engaged in multi-faceted services to support all determinants of health to support whole household outcomes.
- Â Explore employment pathways in collaboration with community partners.
- Â Street outreach to meet with participants at encampments, shelter sites, or other community-based locations.
- Â Provide Home Visits for participants to support with maintaining housing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employees in this position work primarily in an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions. The work involves sitting for extended periods of time, using a computer and other office equipment, and may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Position has occasionally bending, stooping, or reaching for items. Standing or moving around the office area. Occasional work performed outdoors and at external community locations

BA (preferred)
1-2 relevant experience required;
