Vickar Community Chevrolet is looking to fill the position of a Sales Manager, who, under the direction of the General Manager, will primarily be responsible to coordinate departmental activities and operations. This position will greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct to other staff, including demonstrating add-on sales and describing technical information to customers to enhance salesmanship. This role will also lead by example to build department commitment to high standards of service. The Sales Manager must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent and degree or diploma in business or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate departmental activities and operations
  • Encourage a positive team atmosphere that enables the team to meet or exceed sales goals and achieve consistently high levels of customer service
  • Ensure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution
  • Manage the efforts and activities of a sales team in alignment with sales goals and revenue objectives
  • Train employees in company sales techniques and knowledge of product range
  • Assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
  • Accurately monitor and maintain inventories, the flow of merchandise, and weekly orders
  • Provide input to strategic and tactical planning processes
  • Conduct sales forecasts and weekly or monthly status reports
  • Supervise the activities of other sales representatives
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues


Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Previous automotive sales experience required
  • One year of experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred
  • Ability to work well as a team player in a fast-paced, energetic environment
  • Open availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and store openings and closings to meet the needs of the business
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees.
