Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector and the AMS Division are looking for a Programs Director to support the Advanced Battle Management Operating Unit, supporting the airborne surveillance market segment. Programs in the ABM OU range from development, to production and sustainment.
The chosen director will have P&L responsibilities for captures associated with the E-7 program and program management of the development and sustainment portfolios. This position will have the opportunity to report to the ABM Operating Unit Director and will be located full-time onsite in Baltimore, MD.
Responsibilities include:
  • Builds and leverages a strong partnership with cross-functional teams to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives in a matrix organizational environment
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, risk/opportunity management, identifies and resolves complex program problems
  • Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planning
  • Cultivates positive employee experience in a high-pressure environment by focusing on engagement, recognition, retention initiatives and professional development
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills to deliver executive briefings internally and externally to customers, leaders and other program stakeholders
  • Cultivates customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community
  • Develops business area strategies and new business opportunities that are consistent with Division/ Sector priorities to drive consistent growth for the operating area
  • Participates in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions.
  • Driving predictable program performance, including regular measurement and management of key performance metrics

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 10 or more years of program management or related experience
  • Profit & Loss experience with an integrated program team
  • Proposal and capture leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and/or organizations to achieve a common goal, exceptional collaboration skills in a matrix environment
  • Experience leading and executing in demanding high visibility roles with evidence of being able to create an inclusive work environment that attracts, retains and inspires diverse engaged teams
  • Demonstrated ability to foster existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationships
  • Experience leading US Government programs
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and drive strategy, and critical thinking to resolve complex problems
  • Experience generating and briefing senior level (i.e. executives) internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Must be a US citizen with an Active US Government Secret Clearance and ability to obtain special access clearances; Or DoE equivalent and ability to obtain special access clearances

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in engineering and/or business administration
  • Expertise in Full Life Cycle (early S&T, EMD, Production & Sustainment) of program execution to lead the performance of tasks on schedule and at cos
  • Competitive proposal experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $214,100.00 - $321,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
