Job Summary
The Early Childhood Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of early childhood education programs. This role involves supporting the program's daily operations, coordinating activities, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The coordinator works closely with educators, parents, and community partners to promote the success and well-being of children in the program.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of early childhood education programs and activities.Ensure program compliance with state and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.Monitor and evaluate program quality, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities and children's progress.Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, addressing concerns and providing updates on their children's development.Manage program resources, including supplies and materials, to ensure efficient use.Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to support program goals and initiatives.
Knowledge and Skills
Empathy and patience in dealing with children and families.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in early childhood education.
Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood education principles, practices, and curriculum development.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to early childhood programs.
Certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Ability to work effectively with children, families, community partners, and a variety of personnel.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in early childhood education.
Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee's demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
