Job description

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN
Rock Valley Community Programs provides transitional and supportive housing, addiction and mental health treatment services to adults in the Rock County area. We provide these services to homeless male veterans; clients connected to the criminal justice system and outpatient care to anyone needing assistance with addiction and/or mental health treatment.
Position:
Our Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) play a hands-on role in providing quality care and support to individuals in short-term residential mental health crisis. This role is similar to CNA work, and individuals with CNA experience are strongly encouraged to apply- your skills translate well and provide an excellent foundation for success.
Shift: 7am-7pm rotating schedule. Example: Week 1: 4 days, Week 2: 3 days
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care that protects consumer rights, dignity, and wellness
  • Support daily living skills and deliver medications per policy
  • Assist with admissions, consumer orientation, and supervision
  • Monitor and report changes in consumer behavior and condition
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and homelike environment
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow safety protocols
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support care plans
  • Escort consumers to appointments and assist with daily routines
Qualifications
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computers, or willingness to learn
  • Experience in corrections, human services, security, and/or CNA work is a plus
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must complete TB test, and drug screening (on-site).
  • Completion of CPR, First Aid, CBRF Fire Safety, and Choking training within 90 days
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a state and federal background check.
