Program Assistant-HSS (CV39-2) - Supportive Housing Services Division

Program Assistant

Join Volunteers of America Delaware Valley as a Program Assistant and become a trusted presence in our housing and supportive services programs. You'll help ensure safety, structure, and dignity for our clients while gaining valuable experience in the human services field.

In this vital frontline role, you’ll assist with daily facility operations, client monitoring, and support services that make a real difference in people’s lives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support and supervise clients in their daily routines and living spaces

  • Conduct facility rounds, fire safety checks, and curfew monitoring

  • Assist with meal distribution, medication monitoring, and appointment scheduling

  • Welcome and orient new clients, monitor visits, and manage documentation

  • Help clients meet expectations and contribute to a safe, respectful community

  • Transport clients as needed and provide general program support

What You Need:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Human services experience preferred but not required

  • Clear communication skills, calm presence, and an eye for detail

  • Willingness to pitch in where needed and handle confidential information responsibly

  • Valid driver’s license required for some locations

Bilingual is a plus
