Job description

Join Our Blood Institute, an innovative, forward-thinking organization dedicated to providing lifesaving blood products to hospitals and communities throughout our region. OBI helps build strong community partnerships. We believe strong community partnerships are the foundation of our mission, bringing together donors, volunteers, businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, and civic leaders to help ensure a safe and reliable blood supply for those in need. Through advanced blood testing technologies, a commitment to quality and safety, and a history of rapid organizational growth, we continue to expand our impact while delivering exceptional service to patients, donors, and healthcare partners.

This is more than a management position-it's a leadership opportunity to shape community engagement, drive strategic growth, and influence the future of blood services in the Tulsa region. We're seeking an experienced, relationship-focused leader to oversee our Tulsa operations and help advance our mission through strategic partnerships, operational excellence, exceptional team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

About the Role

As the Community Operations Executive Director, you will lead local efforts to recruit blood donors, engage community sponsors and volunteers, and oversee the efficient collection, storage, and delivery of blood products. This highly visible leadership position combines community engagement with operational leadership in a dynamic environment where innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

You’ll serve as the face of Our Blood Institute in the Tulsa community, leading initiatives that strengthen community partnerships, expand donor engagement, and support our continued growth. You will also provide cross-functional leadership across departments and teams, aligning people, resources, and priorities to achieve organizational goals. This role requires the ability to influence without direct authority, build strong internal partnerships, and bring diverse teams together to solve challenges and deliver exceptional results.

Your leadership will directly influence how we serve our hospital partners today while helping shape the future of blood services for tomorrow.

What We're Looking For
  • An innovative, strategic thinker who enjoys building relationships and creating meaningful community impact.
  • A collaborative leader who motivates and develops high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, build alignment across departments, and achieve shared organizational goals.
  • An exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively navigate competing priorities.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and finding creative solutions to challenges.
  • A person of integrity who leads with professionalism, accountability, and compassion.
Benefits

Our Blood Institute offers a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including Health, Dental and Vision insurance, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, Flexible Spending Plan, 401(k) retirement plan, Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, and Tuition Reimbursement along with tenure bonuses ($500 bonus after 6 months, $1,000 bonus after 1 year, and $1,500 bonus after 3 years).
