Job description

BC/BE Family Medicine Physician Opportunity

MercyOne is currently seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine Physician to join one Physician & two Nurse Practitioners in Elkader, IOWA. This is a new position for the clinics and will support the growing community. The community has loyal and longtime patients with the potential to expand and serve even more in the area.

Approaching Elkader from any direction is a scenic drive. Vistas of wooded hills, rich Iowa farmland, river valleys and bluffs abound in Iowa's Little Switzerland region. The Turkey River is the centerpiece of Elkader's beauty. The river offers countless recreational opportunities from paddling to deep fishing holes to recreational trails along the banks.

MercyOne providers and staff are dedicated to offering quality health care services and for you and your family. We offer a wide range of care for patients from newborns to senior citizens. We provide effective treatment for sudden illness, minor injuries, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management of chronic disease and education.

The MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital, which provides a vital lifesaving link to rural communities in Clayton County and surrounding areas through ambulance and emergency services. MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is certified as a Level IV Trauma Center.

Position Opportunity Details

  • 36 Patient contact hours shared between Elkader and Monona clinics
  • PAID Hospital (ED/Inpatient) night call 1-2x/Month
  • 15-20 Patients Daily
