As a Community Habilitation Specialist, you'll work one-on-one with children, teens, or adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities-right in their homes or out in their local community. You'll be a mentor, a motivator, and a guide as they work toward personal goals and build life skills.
What You'll Do:
  • Be a patient and compassionate positive role model
  • Mentor individuals to achieve their goals and grow their independence
  • Spark fun and skill-building activities in the home or community
  • Provide supportive guidance using positive behavior strategies
  • Encourage community involvement and social connections
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, with training provided

What You'll Need:
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and your own vehicle (required for community-based activities)
  • Stable work history
  • A heart for helping others
  • Comfort assisting with personal care if/when needed
  • Comfort using technology including smartphones and web-based apps to complete daily job responsibilities
