Lemonade Day

Denver, CO • On-site, Remote

Job description

Organization Overview
Entrepreneurs believe they can achieve their dreams through hard work, responsibility, and wise stewardship of their resources. Today's youth share that optimism but often lack the life skills, mentorship, and real-world experience to succeed. Lemonade Day is a national nonprofit with a mission to prepare youth for life through fun, proactive, and experiential entrepreneurship education. Since 2007, Lemonade Day has introduced over 1.6 million young people to the real-world experience of starting and running their own businesses - lemonade stands - where they learn to set goals, make plans, work the plan, and achieve their dreams. Youth are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some with causes they care about.
Licensed in over 90 chapters across North America, encompassing more than 200 communities, Lemonade Day operates through partnerships with schools, youth-serving organizations, and local coalitions. The organization's annual operating budget is just over $2 million, supported by philanthropic donations, sponsorships, and earned revenue from licensed program materials.
Position Overview
Lemonade Day is seeking an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven Denver Community Manager to lead the growth and long-term success of Lemonade Day throughout the Denver Metro area.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys connecting people, building partnerships, securing resources, and creating experiences that inspire young people and families. The Denver Community Manager will serve as Lemonade Day's ambassador in the community, cultivating relationships with schools, youth-serving organizations, volunteers, sponsors, civic leaders, and donors while developing a sustainable, year-round presence in Denver.
The ideal candidate is energized by the opportunity to build something meaningful, strengthen an existing foundation, and expand Lemonade Day's reach to ensure more young people have access to entrepreneurship education and real-world experiences that prepare them for life.
Success in this role will be measured by meaningful community engagement, increased youth participation, strengthened partnerships, and sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Community Leadership & Market Growth
  • Serve as Lemonade Day's primary representative and ambassador throughout the Denver community.
  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan designed to increase youth participation, strengthen partnerships, and expand Lemonade Day's year-round presence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, youth-serving organizations, chambers, business leaders, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to increase visibility and awareness of Lemonade Day through community events, media opportunities, speaking engagements, and grassroots outreach.
  • Collaborate with national staff to leverage best practices, tools, and resources that support local growth.
Program Management & Community Engagement
  • Plan, organize, and execute a year-round calendar of programming, events, registration drives, and entrepreneurial experiences.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers, mentors, and program partners to ensure an exceptional participant experience.
  • Oversee the successful execution of Denver Lemonade Day and related community events.
  • Utilize data and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness, improve outcomes, and communicate impact to stakeholders.
Partnership Development & Revenue Generation
  • Partner with national staff to execute a local revenue strategy that includes sponsorships, philanthropic support, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective sponsors, donors, and community investors.
  • Steward local supporters and create opportunities for continued engagement and investment.
  • Support grant implementation and ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate program records, registration data, and stakeholder communications.
  • Track key performance indicators and regularly report progress, outcomes, and opportunities to national leadership.
  • Manage local administrative responsibilities to ensure the market operates efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, youth development, or education.
  • Demonstrated experience building programs, leading coalitions, or grassroots fundraising strongly preferred.

Skills & Attributes
  • Exceptional communicator and relationship builder who naturally connects people around a shared purpose.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and highly resourceful, with a strong bias toward action.
  • Comfortable representing Lemonade Day publicly and serving as the face of the organization in Denver.
  • Organized, accountable, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Passionate about preparing young people for life through entrepreneurship and committed to creating meaningful community impact.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings and events within the Denver area.
  • Occasional lifting of materials and supplies, up to 25 pounds (e.g., event materials, boxes, and promotional items).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during meetings, events, and community outreach activities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for program-related events.
  • The role is largely remote; however, the candidate must be able to navigate the community and attend events and partner meetings in person, requiring local travel throughout the metropolitan area.
  • This position is open to all individuals, and reasonable accommodations will be provided to ensure accessibility and success in the role. If you need accommodations for any aspect of the job application or interview process, please let us know.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Remote, full-time role based in Denver.
  • Frequent local travel for meetings and events.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work required for program events.
