Join Our Team - Code Enforcement Officer (Part-Time)
Woods Cross City Community Development Department
Are you passionate about community development, problem-solving, and public service? Woods Cross City is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and community-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Code Enforcement Officer. This is a dynamic opportunity to work directly with residents and businesses to ensure our community remains safe, well-maintained, and vibrant.
Position Overview
As a Code Enforcement Officer, you will play a key role in upholding Woods Cross City's municipal codes and ordinances. This is an at-will, working-level position that involves up to 29 hours per week/or 1508 hours per year. You'll be responsible for investigating potential violations and working collaboratively with property owners and businesses to achieve compliance in areas such as building codes, zoning, signage, weeds, snow removal, and more.

Located in South Davis County, Woods Cross is home to approximately 11,500 residents. With a staff of around 40 full-time employees and a general fund budget of $8 million, we are a progressive city with an engaged City Council and a strong sense of community.

Key Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict diplomatically.
  • Experience in code enforcement, community planning, public administration, or a related field-or currently enrolled in relevant coursework.

  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a small but fast-paced city
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug

This is a part-time, non-benefited, career service exempt
