Harper College Community Education seeks instructors with a desire to teach innovative courses leading to career advancement, upskilling, or the attainment of professional continuing education units (CEU's). We consistently accept proposals for new courses, workshops, seminars, and series in these three areas to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue rewarding careers or further their education.

The College was established by referendum in 1965 and opened September 1967. It is named for Dr. William Rainey Harper, a pioneer in the junior college movement in the United States and the first president of the University of Chicago.
Harper College is now one of the nation's premier community colleges and one of the largest, serving approximately 29,000 students annually in Chicago's northwest suburbs. The College's academic programs prepare students for rewarding careers and for transfer to four-year universities.   • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement and achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices in education to enhance course delivery and student engagement.
  • Prompt responsiveness to emails and communications from the coordinator.

SCHEDULE INFORMATION

Courses are generally short-term and completed in one semester. The role includes teaching daytime, evening, and weekend classes, either live online and/or in-person at Harper College Main Campus (Palatine) or Harper College Learning and Career Center (Prospect Heights). Whether a class will run depends on enrollment.
