Job description

Description:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Bistro Supervisor to lead our front-of-

house team and ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest. You will play a

pivotal role in day-to-day operations, mentoring staff, maintaining service standards,

and helping drive the culture of hospitality that defines our bistro.


Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and motivate front-of-house staff during service to ensure

seamless, high-quality guest experiences

• Open and/or close the bistro, including cash handling, reconciliation, and end-of-

shift reporting

• Monitor efficiency during peak periods

• Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating

where necessary

• Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate daily specials, service priorities, and

any operational updates

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations at all

times

• Assist with scheduling, time-off requests, and staff coverage in coordination with

the Dining Service Director

• Support inventory management including ordering, stock rotation, and wastage

control

• Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain timing, quality, and

communication between front and back of house

• Onboard and train new team members in service standards, POS systems, and

bistro procedures

Requirements:

Qualifications; Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or senior front-of-house role in a

restaurant, café, or bistro environment

• Proven ability to lead a team under pressure while maintaining a positive, guest-

focused atmosphere

• Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wine basics and menu

upselling techniques

• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic cash management

• Current Food Handler certification (ServSafe)

• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
