Development & Community Engagement Specialist

Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week

Hiring Range: $35.11 - $40.38
Location: Snohomish County, WA
Hourly, non-exempt

We are seeking an enthusiastic, relationship-driven Development & Community Engagement Specialist to help grow community partnerships, cultivate donor relationships, and expand awareness of our mission throughout Snohomish County.

What You'll Do:


Build Community Relationships

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, community leaders, and supporters
  • Conduct regular outreach through meetings, calls, events, and personalized communications
  • Secure sponsorships, donations, and mission-aligned partnerships
  • Develop donor stewardship plans and strengthen long-term engagement

Support Fundraising & Outreach Efforts

  • Represent Sherwood at community events and meetings, Chambers of Commerce, and networking opportunities
  • Deliver presentations to community groups and businesses as needed
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns, special events, and community engagement initiatives
  • Help increase awareness and support for Sherwood's programs and services

Manage Donor Data & Reporting

  • Maintain donor records and engagement activity within CRM systems
  • Track fundraising and donor engagement metrics
  • Prepare donor acknowledgments and reports
  • Monitor fundraising pipelines and provide updates to leadership

Collaborate Across the Organization

  • Work closely with program staff to understand funding priorities
  • Translate program needs into compelling donor messaging
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, meetings, and events

Requirements

What We're Looking For:


Required Qualifications


1-3 years' experience in fundraising, sales, business development, customer relations, or nonprofit development success

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Confidence in asking for financial support and cultivating partnerships

Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology tools

Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications


Familiarity with Snohomish County and its communities

Experience using donor databases, auction software or CRM systems

Passion for serving individuals with disabilities and their families
