Position: Community Development Specialist Division: CRA
WorkDays: Monday - Friday; Some weekends Hours of Operation: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Position Summary:
The CommunityDevelopment Specialist plays a pivotal role in fostering growth and developmentwithin the Broadway Bank CRA Assessment Areas through strategic partnerships,financial literacy, and the provision of small business and HMDA lending. Theperson in this role will play an integral part in enhancing Broadway Bank'scommitment to community development and adherence to the Community ReinvestmentAct (CRA). The Community Development Specialist is tasked with expanding smallbusiness relationships, identifying loans, investments, and serviceopportunities that benefit LMI individuals, engaging with a broad network ofcommunity stakeholders to promote economic revitalization, and accuratelydocumenting CRA eligible activities ensuring compliance with the CRA.
Essential Functions:
  • Engage local nonprofits, community development agencies, and educational institutions to promote CRA-focused products, services, and partnerships.
  • Maintain a robust network of community partners, including nonprofit organizations, affordable housing entities, and educational organizations, to facilitate community development and financial literacy efforts.
  • Conduct financial literacy and entrepreneurial training sessions for various community groups, including schools, nonprofit organizations, and small business incubators.
  • Document, organize, and retain CRA eligible Community Development Investment, Lending, and Service activities, ensuring accurate submission of all necessary documentation to the Chief CRA Officer for compliance and tracking purposes.
  • Coordinate and implement CRA service activities and initiatives within the designated CRA assessment area.
  • Evaluate and recommend best practices and strategic goals to enhance the bank's CRA performance and community impact.
  • Act as a representative of Broadway Bank to foster strong relationships with community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Promote and support the creation of strategic objectives across business units to significantly influence the bank's overall CRA performance.
  • Ensure ongoing engagement with community functions, representing Broadway Bank effectively during work hours, after hours, and occasionally on weekends.
  • Collaborate with Line of Business (LOB) leaders to compile quarterly CRA data for committee meetings, aiding in presentation and report preparation.
  • Coordinate corporate donation requests, facilitating processing and fulfillment for the Donations Committee.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the CRA Public File and OCC exam spreadsheets, aiding the CRA Manager in exam preparations and execution.
  • Act as a CRA liaison on the Broadway Bank Care Corp Committee, tracking volunteer reporting using CRA data software.
  • Partner with ERM Senior Compliance Analyst in CRA/HMDA data reporting and management, independently handling data system operations and report preparation.
  • Assist in the execution of the annual CRA training in conjunction with Talent Management, manage Board/Committee involvement surveys and reporting, and New Employee Orientations.
  • Efficiently handle multiple tasks and priorities, performing other related duties as assigned.
  • This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.

Experience & Education:
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant work experience in small business lending, community development/CRA, or other compliance-related business fields.
  • Completion of a college degree or equivalent experience is required.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong presentation skills with the confidence to speak in front of diverse groups.
    Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A commitment to supporting small businesses and community organizations in LMI areas.
  • Self-motivated and purpose-driven, with exemplary initiative and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings and independently.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with CRA regulations and a strong understanding of community development principles.
  • Ability to network effectively and build strategic partnerships.
  • Flexibility to attend various community functions outside of regular work hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • A significant degree of flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to travel within the community to meet with partners, stakeholders, and to participate in or lead community events.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
