Job Description

David Weekley Homes is seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Purchasing to lead our Indianapolis Division Purchasing and Design Center Teams. This high-impact role is central to delivering exceptional homes on time, on budget, and at the highest quality.

The ideal candidate will combine operational expertise, leadership excellence, and a deep understanding of construction purchasing to drive cost efficiency, strengthen vendor partnerships, and enhance our competitive position in the market. Collaboration with Regional and National Teams will be key to achieving consistent, scalable results that support David Weekley Homes' growth and success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, hire, and develop Division Purchasing and Design Center Teams while promoting growth and engagement
  • Oversee hard cost budgets, proformas, and feasibility studies to support land acquisition and community development
  • Direct bidding, cost analysis, and vendor negotiations to maintain a competitive market position
  • Build and manage relationships with Preferred Partners to ensure capacity, quality, and timely delivery of labor and materials.
  • Collaborate with Regional and National Teams on sourcing strategies, scopes of work, and product offerings
  • Partner with Division Operations and Design Center Teams to ensure quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction
  • Provide financial oversight, including forecasting, accruals, and cost monitoring for all communities
Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or construction management leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven success in cost control, vendor management, and process improvement
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build high-performing teams and foster accountability
