Job description

Position Summary
The Office & HR portion of this position will be responsible for various areas, including managing the Journey Church office and providing administrative assistance and support to staff members as needed.
The Care Coordinator portion of this position helps ensure that individuals and families within the church receive thoughtful, compassionate, and appropriate care. This role manages incoming care requests, recruits and equips a team of volunteers, and connects people with volunteers who can provide prayer, encouragement, practical assistance, and ongoing support.
The Office, HR & Care Coordinator works closely with pastors, staff, volunteers, and community resources while maintaining confidentiality, healthy boundaries, and consistent follow-up.
Duties & Responsibilities
Office & HR

  • Manage the Front Desk during open office hours - Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm
  • Stock and coordinate coffee, snacks and meals for office and special events as needed
  • Maintain inventory and purchase office supplies
  • Provide administrative support with HR and accounting tasks and to staff members and ministry teams, as needed and requested.
  • Provide administrative support for the Journey Church Council, as needed and requested.
  • Manage the budget associated with ministry area
Care Team
  • Recruit, onboard, and train Care Team volunteers who demonstrate compassion, spiritual maturity, discretion, and a desire to care for others.
  • Receive, review, and respond to care requests, connecting individuals with trained Care Team volunteers or, when needed, pastoral care, professional counseling, or referral to a community resource.
  • Provide ongoing encouragement, coaching, resources, and support to Care Team volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trusted counselors, service providers, nonprofit organizations, and community resources.
  • Help cultivate a church culture in which people feel known, supported, and encouraged to care for one another.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Mature believer in Jesus Christ, who is a growing disciple and adheres to the Bible and the Journey Church doctrinal positions.
  • A verifiable commitment to personal spiritual growth in their own faith in Christ.
  • An example in faith and conduct in relationships with the staff, congregation, and community.
  • Commitment and ability to communicate the purpose, vision, and core values of Journey Church.
  • Biblically qualified to serve as a leader in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, Peter 5:1-9.
  • Commitment to life-long learning through ongoing leadership and ministry development
  • Well organized with attention to detail and an eye for excellence
  • Well-rounded people skills, including high-end verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude and a heart for serving others
  • Self-starter who is trustworthy of a leadership position at Journey Church

Working conditions
