Are you looking for a mission-driven non-profit where your skills can help people in need around the world? At the Jewish United Fund (JUF), we take pride in our mission and in having a work culture that fosters a sense of belonging and feels rewarding, supportive, and inclusive. We have a hybrid schedule and offer generous benefits including a 401(k) match, up to 22 days of paid time off (starting with 15), up to 11 sick days (starting with 7), and up to 21 paid holidays. The salary range for this role is $50,000-$52,000.

What you’ll be responsible for:

You will be responsible for a variety of professional tasks within the Women’s Philanthropy team, including program and event planning, staffing volunteer committees, implementing fundraising initiatives, and other tasks associated with outreach to the women within the Jewish community. You will be coordinating, implementing, and providing professional leadership and direction to Board and Council activities including fundraising, education, and volunteer programs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with lay leaders, committee members, and other staff to implement a variety of programs and events related to fundraising, outreach, and leadership development.
  • Perform any necessary tasks in relation to administering Women’s Philanthropy meetings, programs, and initiatives, including attending and staffing Women’s Philanthropy programs, events, and Board and Council meetings. Spearhead and provide support for Board and Council meetings, events, and activities.
  • Plan, create, and organize meetings, programs, and activities to achieve fundraising goals and other objectives for Women’s Philanthropy in conformity with JUF goals and policies.
  • Support JUF campaign integration on an ongoing basis and provide general support for all JUF campaign events, phonothons, and special events.

    What you need to succeed:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Proven ability to plan, implement, and measure strategies and programs
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (colleagues, volunteers, donors, community organizations)
    • High level of energy and flexibility
    • Ability to be a self-starter and handle multiple projects.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn JUF's database system, Salesforce.
    • Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage, traditions, and Jewish Communal Services required.
    • Available to work occasional evening and/or weekend events/meetings.

    What you’ll love about us:

At JUF, you can be part of one of the largest non-profit social welfare institutions in Illinois. We provide food, refuge, healthcare, education, emergency assistance, and essential services to 500,000 Chicagoans of all faiths and millions of Jews around the world. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with base contribution and match, additional health and wellness benefits, financial benefits, professional training, tuition reimbursement, and much more. We have a flexible schedule with core hours and the ability to work from home / remote a few days per week (for most positions) on a hybrid basis.

    Our Schedule:

We have a hybrid work policy to allow staff the flexibility to work from home / remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Tuesdays-Thursdays, the standard work location is 30 South Wells Street in Chicago, and staff are expected to work in person. We have a 36.5 hour work week, not a 40 hour work week. Our work hours are 8:30am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-4pm Friday with a daily 1 hour lunch break.
