Business Office Manager
JOB PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Business Office Manager is to direct overall administrative and fiscal activities in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, as directed by the Regional Accountant, Corporate Human Resources staff, and/or the Administrator to assure that proper administrative and fiscal procedures are maintained at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fiscal Functions
  • Assumes responsibility for accuracy of patient paid accounts. Receives payment on resident accounts and issues receipts.
  • Assumes responsibility of posting receipts to journals daily. Balances daily receipts completing required forms, and making necessary bank deposits.
  • Receive, sorts and post charges to resident account ledgers according to predetermined classifications.
  • Maintains petty cash account and reconciles accordingly.

Administrative Functions
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the administrative office policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating administrative policies, procedure manuals, etc.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining written job descriptions and performance evaluations for administrative office personnel in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, OSHA and other pertinent laws governing job positions. Review with Regional Accountant and/or the Administrator.
  • Interpret the facility's policies and procedures for personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc. as directed by the Regional Manager, Corporate HR and/or the Administrator.
  • Ensure that all office personnel follow established policies and procedures.

Personnel Functions
  • Assist in determining office staffing, evaluate employee performance, and make recommendations to Regional Manager, Corporate HR, and/or Administrator concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, transfers etc.
  • Recruit, select and train competent administrative personnel as necessary or directed.
  • Review complaints and grievances and make necessary oral/written reports to the Regional Manager, Corporate HR and /or the Administrator.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • AA Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an administrative supervisory capacity required.
  • Must have knowledge of insurance procedures, contracts, etc., covering business transactions.
  • Must have knowledge of Medicare guidelines for reimbursement, knowledgeable of laws/regulations pertaining to hospital and long term care administrative procedures.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, etc.
