What is the opportunity?

As an Associate, you provide direct client and sales support to the Financial Planners to enable them to focus on planning and advice activities for clients. You contribute to a differentiated client experience by providing value added support and problem resolution. In this role, you collaborate with partners across the organization to identify and meet client needs and goals, strengthening client relationships and making it easier for them to do business with RBC. As a member of the Financial Planning Team, you provide leadership around the development of the Associates and bring innovative ideas to increase efficiency.

What will you do?

  • Enable Financial Planners by assisting with preparations for client meetings, and supporting the fulfilment of credit, investments, and everyday banking solutions

  • Provide consistent support to client requests, act as a point of contact for client problems, and ensure accuracy of documentation with follow-ups, as required

  • Leverage routines to ensure efficient and effective completion of client tasks, identifying areas for improvement to realize efficiencies

  • Maximize opportunities to effectively identify client needs, make referrals, expand profitable client relationships, and track and review progress against the teams' annual plan

  • Exercise due diligence in following all policies and procedures, and identity/correct areas of operational risk

  • Support Financial Planners with administrative activities, applying a continuous improvement approach to achieving a superior client experience

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Mutual Funds accreditation (e.g., Investment Funds in Canada, or the Canadian Securities Course)

  • Previous experience in personal lending, investments and general banking with clients directly

  • Demonstrated success working in a fast paced environment with the ability to manage competing priorities, as well as multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

  • IT literacy including the Microsoft Office suite of products, and digital knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability interact with partners effectively in person, via email and on the phone

  • Flexibility, eagerness to learn, strong personal ethics, and a hunger for success

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, demonstrating strong collaboration skills

  • Experience using Linx, Casper, Sales Platform, RBC Investment System, CART and IRIS

  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients with English and French-speaking needs.

Nice-to-have

  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial industry
