Job description

Job Title: Community Partnerships Associate Location: Hoboken, NJ (In Person M-F) Employment Type: Full-Time, W2 Salary: $60,000-$68,000, based on experience. About Computers 4 People Computers for People is a rapidly growing nonprofit dedicated to bridging the digital divide through refurbished computers, affordable internet, and digital literacy. We currently partner with more than 400 nonprofits, schools, libraries, housing authorities, workforce organizations, and government agencies across the Northeast.

These partners can refer individuals for free computers, enroll their clients in discounted Shield Internet service, and contract with us for digital literacy and technology programs. As demand continues to grow, we currently have 347 organizations waiting to become official partners. Your job will be to help us eliminate that waitlist while ensuring every partnership creates meaningful, well-documented impact.

Position Overview The Community Partnerships Associate expands Computers for People's reach by building and managing relationships with nonprofits, schools, libraries, housing authorities, workforce organizations, and government agencies. You will manage the onboarding and success of hundreds of partner organizations, review and approve individual applicants on a weekly basis, and help grow our programs into new communities. This role is equal parts relationship management, program coordination, communication, and business development.

A critical part of the job is setting honest expectations with partners, because demand for our computers consistently exceeds supply, you will need to be skilled at communicating transparently, prioritizing effectively, and connecting partners to the full range of C4P programs even when computers are not immediately available. Every partnership conversation should explore where Shield Internet, digital literacy classes, or a paid contract can create impact alongside or instead of a device. The right person for this role is deeply organized, an excellent communicator, and someone who takes pride in keeping things accurate and up to date, from a partner's shipping address to a grant narrative.

Responsibilities Partnership Development & Outreach Meet with 10+ partner organizations each week through virtual or in-person meetings. Recruit, onboard, and activate new partner organizations from our current pipeline of 347 pending partners, with the goal of systematically eliminating the backlog. Match organizations with the right C4P programs-free computer referrals, Shield Internet, digital literacy classes, and paid contracts.

Identify opportunities for paid partnerships including computer donations, Shield Internet, digital literacy programs, and other technology services. Represent Computers for People at conferences, networking events, and community meetings. Applicant Review & Data Integrity Review and approve incoming applicants on a weekly basis, evaluating eligibility and aligning demand with available supply.

Maintain a clear and consistent prioritization framework for computer distribution based on grant requirements, geographic priorities, and community need. Audit and update partner records on an ongoing basis-shipping addresses, contact information, program enrollment status, and organizational details go stale quickly and accuracy directly affects our ability to deliver. Maintain clean, organized CRM records and flag outdated or inconsistent data proactively.

Expectation Management & Partner Success Communicate honestly and proactively with partners about computer availability, waitlists, and timelines, demand exceeds supply and partners need accurate information to serve their clients well. Position Shield Internet and digital literacy programming as valuable solutions when computers are not immediately available. Coordinate successful program implementation and ensure grant requirements are met.

Build long-term relationships through timely follow-up and proactive communication. Grant Writing & Impact Storytelling Contribute to grant applications by writing compelling narratives that capture the breadth and depth of C4P's community impact. Collect impact stories, testimonials, photos, and measurable outcomes from partner organizations on an ongoing basis.

Maintain accurate records of computers distributed, internet enrollments, classes delivered, and other key program metrics for use in grant reporting and communications. Contribute partner spotlights, client stories, and program outcomes to newsletters, grant reports, and marketing materials. Performance Evaluation Performance is reviewed twice per year (June and December).

The December review determines your annual merit raise. 40% - Community Impact: Partners onboarded and activated, applicants reviewed and processed on schedule, progress against the pending partner backlog, grant requirements met, and documented outcomes-computers distributed, internet enrollments, classes delivered, and impact stories collected. 30% - Partnership Development: Consistent volume of 10+ partner meetings per week and conversion of qualified meetings into paid contracts.

A strong benchmark is approximately 1 in 15 qualified meetings resulting in a paid contract for computer donations, Shield Internet, digital literacy, or other services. Contract values typically range from $500 to $40,000+. 20% - Data Integrity & Partner Success: Accuracy and completeness of partner records, timeliness of applicant reviews, quality of CRM data, and successful program implementation.

10% - Leadership & Culture: Ownership, positivity, initiative, teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to C4P's mission. Qualifications Experience in community outreach, nonprofit partnerships, account management, or a related field. Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to turn real people's experiences into compelling grant narratives, impact reports, and partner communications.

Exceptionally organized, with a strong instinct for keeping data accurate and processes clean across a high volume of relationships. Honest and clear communicator, especially when delivering difficult news about limited availability or timelines. Experience with CRM tools and comfortable maintaining detailed records.

Grant writing experience is a plus but not required-willingness to learn and contribute is what matters. Genuine commitment to digital equity and the communities C4P serves. Ability to work in person in Hoboken, NJ.

Why Computers 4 People We are a small, fast-moving team doing work that genuinely matters. You will have real ownership over your partnerships, see the direct impact of your work, and help build systems that will serve thousands of people across the Northeast. As we continue to grow, you'll have the opportunity to grow with us.

Benefits Health insurance 10 days of paid vacation annually Up to 40 hours of paid sick leave annually All federal holidays paid Additional paid office closure between Christmas and New Year's (approximately two weeks) Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding, mission-driven organization and take on increasing responsibility over time
