The Communications Strategy Manager will play a pivotal role in crafting and disseminating the company's narrative, ensuring that our brand and message resonate deeply with diverse audiences. This individual is a master at the art of storytelling, weaving compelling narratives that highlight the tangible benefits and value our initiatives bring to each stakeholder. By leading their assigned Communication Content Specialist and working closely with marketing team members, leaders, and stakeholders, the Communications Strategy Manager will ensure that our communication strategies are not only aligned with our business goals, but also echo the 'what's in it for me' message, driving engagement and fostering a strong connection with our brand.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.

Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience in developing and executing successful communication strategies.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Creative thinker with a passion for developing innovation communication solutions.

Travel: 5-10%

Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Communications & Storytelling

  • Develops comprehensive communication strategies that include a mix of media channels (digital, print, social media) to reach target audiences, emphasizing the 'what's in it for me' message to ensure engagement and relatability.
  • Crafts compelling narratives that resonate with audiences, highlighting the importance of storytelling in creating an emotional connection and driving the desired action.
  • Manages the creation and distribution of marketing materials and communications, ensuring consistency in messaging, branding, and the integration of effective storytelling techniques.
  • Incorporates a deep understanding of user experience into all communication efforts, ensuring that messages are not only heard but felt and acted upon. This involves empathizing with the audience, anticipating their needs, and crafting messages that provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Leads and collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute communication campaign strategies.
  • Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of communication strategies, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Builds and maintains strong internal relationships to deeply understand needs and goals, allowing for strategic guidance on effective communication and audience engagement.
  • Supports rapid response communications for unpredictable and fast-moving issues with tight deadlines.
  • Drafts and reviews internal communications for company intranet sites, presentations, collateral, email, video, and more.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

People Leadership

  • Successful completion of a leadership-focused training program (prior to or during the role).
  • Manages direct report (e.g., content specialist), offering coaching and career development opportunities.
