Position Description
As a Sr. Project Manager at Thompson Turner, you'll lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout and play a key role in delivering successful outcomes for clients and teams. You'll work closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal partners to drive projects forward safely, on schedule, and within budget. Job Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned projects from kickoff through closeout, with accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead a team of direct reports, ensuring accountability for the execution of key deliverables.
  • Review project drawings, proposals, and contract documents to develop execution plans, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and field leadership to keep projects moving efficiently and proactively resolve issues.
  • Establish project work plans, support staffing decisions, and help align the right people and trade partners to each phase of work.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular updates, reporting, and presentations to clients and company leadership.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, change orders, financial tracking, billings, and project documentation.
  • Partner with site teams to maintain a safe, compliant jobsite and ensure prompt corrective action when needed.
  • Support field operations by guiding on-site staff in reporting, billing, financial oversight, personnel matters, and communication with corporate teams.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, helping deliver an exceptional project experience that reflects Thompson Turner's standards and values.

Job Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects or similar project experience in the general contracting capacity.
  • Strong background in project estimating, bidding, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and closeout.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Bluebeam and Procore or other comparable project management software systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong math and analytical skills, especially related to project cost control and pricing.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and lead teams toward project goals and deadlines.
  • Experience with civil, structural steel, or industrial building projects is a plus.

  • Willingness to work additional hours when needed to support project deadlines and client commitments.
