Job Description

Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Internal Communications, the Communications Program Manager leads or supports a number of key initiatives including: internal campaigns and storytelling, stakeholder relationship management with specified corporate function partners, company-wide intranet content development, internal digital screen and poster content management and alignment of sponsorships and key industry conference efforts, including leadership and support relating to Veolia’s partnership with the Professional Pickleball Association. This role is responsible for the management and execution of the weekly employee e-newsletter and functional announcements as needed. This important team player will work with a variety of stakeholders to design communications templates for internal stakeholders and support the customization as needed.

The Communications Program Manager works closely with the members of the extended communications team to ensure integration and alignment including at times with parallel external programs.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supports or leads key projects across the corporate communications function focused on internal employee engagement. These could include but are not limited to:
    • Planning support for annual leadership meetings (identifying key speakers, support on-site logistics and any other required tasks)
    • Planning and execution of our sustainability report working closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer.
    • Lead or support internal messaging campaigns, including Safety Week, Cybersecurity Awareness, Fraud Awareness and the annual Voice of Resourcers survey.
    • Support any other corporate key projects as needed.
  • Owns the stakeholder relationship for internal communication with specified corporate function partners, which may vary or rotate over time and could include Internal Controls, Procurement, Human Resources etc.
    • Effectively consults with these partners to help them understand communications best practices and makes data-driven recommendations for communications solutions that will drive desired business results.
  • Create engaging content and distribute through communications channels, example, One to One intranet, dynamic screens, VNA Minute newsletter.
  • Trains employees and supports creation and development of One to One intranet pages.
  • Develops and implements communication plans and timelines with support of the Senior Director, Internal Communications.
  • Tracks and reviews communications performance metrics, identifying what’s working and what’s not and makes recommendations for improving the effectiveness of communications.
  • Supports with company alliances (i.e. Pickleball) and relationships, supports our partners and vendors as needed, acts as a co-project manager in these project alliances, and leads or partners on internal reporting of the effectiveness and return on investment of these alliances.
  • Acquires and maintains a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keeps up-to-date with relevant developments.
  • Adheres to AP Style and the company’s style guide, ensuring that we produce high-quality and error-free copy consistently across channels.
  • Works with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
  • Responds to employees' questions on company programs, policies and other communication tools.
  • Participates in any communication projects/programs to support the communication team.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field (essential).
  • 8+ years of experience in communications or writing development.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; content development / storytelling experience.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Solid organizational and planning skills; applies a strategic lens to communication planning.
  • Ability to lead communication projects and initiatives.
  • Familiarity with technology applications to support: internet story posting, weekly e-newsletter production, light video editing, content editing, and communication performance metric collection and analysis.
  • A well-developed creative mindset and professional capacity.
  • Highly computer literate with a capability to email, use Google suite and related business and communication tools.
  • Attention to detail.

Additional Information

Pay Rate: $130000 - $160000 Per Year.
