Job description

Tommy's is seeking a communications Manager to develop and implement communications content and materials to be deployed across a variety of channels for both internal and external audiences. This role will curate content for publication across multiple forms of media (e.g. email, intranet, social media, digital signage and video), which requires liaising between (1) the initiative's subject matter experts to gather detail, write and/or edit the messages and (2) the Marketing team's creative and digital functions to oversee execution of insightful communications and corporate messaging. The ideal candidate will be an expert writer and content creator who is self-motivated and goal-oriented to help drive growth and awareness of our thriving business.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Create, manage and deliver all formal corporate communications, maintaining the voice of both the brand and the owners in a professional, informative, and thorough style
  • Draft corporate communications to internal and external stakeholders including Franchise Partners, vendors, industry outlets, etc.
  • Create press releases and other mass media announcements related to our various business channels and activities, track and report results through PR software
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to lead the creation, maintenance, and sharing of Electronic Press Kits (EPKs) as needed for strong media relations and business needs
  • Facilitate the communication related to new site openings, including the sharing of EPKs with local media and the coordination of on-site interviews and media days, be present when needed
  • Maintain accurate communication / email lists for various internal and external teams across various technology platforms
    • Employee / Department groups
    • External Stakeholders - Franchise Partners, Site Leaders, field support reps, distributors
    • Vendor / Supplier community
    • Media contacts
  • Manage weekly newsletters for the Franchise Community
  • Write all award applications and communicate outcomes
  • Track, report and archive all media events
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for employees / departments and provide support in the crafting of professional messages and announcements across a variety of functions internally and externally
  • Manage sensitive information in a professional, confidential, and secure manner both internally and externally
  • Public speaking on behalf of the brand when needed

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field
  • Proven experience as a communications professional in a corporate environment
  • Business-related experience with social media platforms and proper communication strategies for each of the major platforms
  • Experience working within project management software systems and CRMs a plus
  • Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office; experience within database systems a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and operates primarily indoors with limited to no travel expectation.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:
