Job description

As part of the Marketing team, the Communications Coordinator supports internal teams, media and marketing partners, and strategic initiatives to enhance awareness of Augusta as a tourism destination and advances the organization's mission. The Communications Coordinator will assist in developing written content, organizing electronic communications, and supporting communications projects and campaigns, while helping to bring campaigns, newsletters, and destination storytelling to life through strong writing, organization, and creative execution.
This is a full-time in-office position that reports to the Senior Communications Manager as part of the Marketing team, which includes:
  • Chief Marketing Officer
  • Senior Communications Manager
  • Marketing Manager

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain communications calendar and content schedule
  • Coordinate and execute electronic communications, including newsletters, eblasts, and drip campaigns
  • Write, edit, and schedule content for newsletters, website, media releases, and partner communications
  • Support development of collateral materials, one sheets, and other communications assets
  • Serve as project manager for communications initiatives, including the Experience Guide, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and deadlines are met
  • Coordinate content and asset collection across departments to support communications efforts
  • Support coordination of communications requests and workflows across the organization
  • Contribute creative ideas to support campaigns and other marketing initiatives
  • Compile communications performance data and assist with quarterly and annual reporting
  • Maintain organized records of communications projects, content, and assets
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all communications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt content for multiple platforms
  • Working knowledge of design and communications tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools (preferably Monday.com), email marketing platforms (preferably Act-On), and CRM systems (Simpleview experience a plus)
  • Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Professional and Education Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field or bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Experience with email marketing and digital communications

  • In-office work environment, Monday-Friday during standard business hours
  • Occasional evening or weekend work requirements
  • Occasional out of area travel and driving
