Job Summary

The College of Engineering is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented student to serve as a Social Media/Marketing Communications Intern. This individual will assist with creating and managing social media content that promotes the people, programs, events, and experiences within the College of Engineering.
The intern will help support the development and implementation of content strategies that fulfill messaging goals, strengthen engagement, and advance the College of Engineering brand across multiple platforms.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop and refine professional skills in writing, organization, project management, communication, teamwork, and digital marketing. The intern will also have opportunities to network and collaborate with College of Engineering faculty, staff, students, campus partners, and industry professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
-Schedule and manage content for the College of Engineering social media platforms.
-Assist with writing, monitoring, and scheduling content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
-Collaborate with College of Engineering faculty and staff to create and share event, student, and news content.
-Track social media analytics and engagement data to help guide content strategy and messaging goals.
Other Duties and Responsibilities (as needed):
Assist with student recruitment initiatives during information sessions, campus visits, and special events.
Support event planning, preparation, and programming efforts for College of Engineering activities.
Provide customer service and reception support for the Student Success Office.
Perform general office duties as needed, including distributing mail, answering phones, and assisting with office operations.

Pay Rate

$15.00/hour

Required Qualifications

-Must be in good standing with both academic and University conduct standards at the time of application and throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

-Professional, highly motivated, personable, timely, and detail-oriented.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Foundational knowledge of various social media platforms, preferably with experience creating content for an organization, event, or student group.
-Strong copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills.
-Basic photography skills; experience with light photo editing is a plus.
-Familiarity with shooting and editing short-form video content using a smartphone.
-Ability to work collaboratively while also managing independent projects and deadlines.

Work Hours

8-10 hours per week.
Availability between 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday (hours will vary).
