Job description

Job Summary
The Facilitator supports federal agencies by planning, coordinating, and facilitating collaborative meetings, workshops, strategic planning sessions, training events, and organizational improvement initiatives. The Facilitator assists federal program managers and multidisciplinary project teams by applying facilitation techniques, business improvement methodologies, organizational development principles, and stakeholder engagement strategies to support successful project outcomes

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, facilitate, and document meetings, workshops, strategic planning sessions, focus groups, and collaborative discussions.

  • Assist project teams with business process improvement and organizational development initiatives.

  • Facilitate communication among federal personnel, contractors, partners, tribal organizations, state agencies, local governments, and other stakeholders.

  • Guide multidisciplinary teams through structured problem-solving and decision-making processes.

  • Support development of business process documentation, workflow analysis, and organizational improvement recommendations.

  • Assist in identifying organizational challenges, performance gaps, and opportunities for operational improvements.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze information to support project planning and program decision-making.

  • Develop meeting agendas, facilitation materials, visual presentations, and supporting documentation.

  • Prepare meeting summaries, action items, reports, and recommendations for leadership review.

  • Support the planning and delivery of conferences, symposiums, training programs, public engagement sessions, and policy discussions.

  • Interpret program data and present findings using clear visual displays and communication tools.

  • Assist with organizational assessments, stakeholder interviews, surveys, and information gathering activities.

  • Promote collaboration, consensus-building, and effective communication among diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Support implementation of organizational change initiatives and business transformation efforts.

  • Assist with knowledge transfer activities, training development, and facilitation of learning sessions.

  • Coordinate project activities while maintaining schedules, documentation, and communication with project managers

Education and Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in natural resources, business, management, information systems or other related fields.
  • Required: At least 4 years of professional experience
  • Preferred: Experience supporting projects for the U.S. Forest Service, National Forest System (NFS), or other federal land management agencies

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
