Job description

Saint Nicholas Catholic School in Gig Harbor, WA seeks a detail-oriented, mission-driven, and collaborative Co-Director of Development and Communications for the 202627 school year. St. Nicholas Catholic School is a Preschool through 8th grade Catholic school residing on the grounds of, and in full partnership with, the Saint Nicholas Parish community. We are committed to our mission: "United by the love of Christ, St. Nicholas Catholic School, in partnership with parents and parish, teaches the fullness of the Catholic faith, fosters academic excellence, and nurtures a community of disciples." REPORTS TO: School Principal
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Hourly
WORK SCHEDULE: 29 hours per week 
BENEFITS: This position is part time and not benefits eligible
PAY: $27,700-$28,327 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.



Position Summary

The Co-Director of Development and Communications plays a key role in fostering strong communication, engagement, and community support throughout the school and parish. This individual will coordinate school communications, assist with development and fundraising efforts, support office operations, and help promote school events and initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, welcoming, creative, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities Include

  • Coordinating school communications, newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials
  • Managing and updating digital platforms, including social media, website content, and parent communication systems
  • Supporting development and advancement initiatives, including fundraising campaigns and community partnerships
  • Assisting with event planning, promotion, and volunteer coordination for school and parish activities
  • Providing front office and administrative support, including parent relations and student services
  • Collaborating with school leadership, parish staff, PTO, and volunteers to strengthen community engagement

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Experience with office administration, communications, marketing, or development preferred
  • Proficiency with technology, social media platforms, and online communication tools
