The posted compensation range of $57.70 - $78.42/hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Wound Care Nurse, you will specialize in comprehensive wound and ostomy care. You will elevate care quality, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure cost-effective management. Every day you will provide expert consultation and direct care for complex wounds. You'll assess, plan, and evaluate individualized care, educate patients/staff on best practices, monitor outcomes, and ensure protocol adherence. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong critical thinking, communication, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

  • Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data, follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines and utilizes pathways
  • Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs which includes treatment options and patient placement options
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
  • Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict

  • Recent, 1-year wound care nurse experience
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse

Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. It is one of only two Level II trauma centers, the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a 266-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and a robust robotic surgery program.
